    New Going Rogue info!

I'm not sure if anyone still cares, but some pretty juicy info about Going Rogue was recently shared at the HeroCon, and has since fast-tracked its way to the rest of us who couldn't travel half-way around the world. The basic premise of things to come can be found http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=196483 here. It's far too much for me to relate, but there's some great stuff to read up on.

More importantly, though, there is a 30 minute video of a presentation about Going Rogue. Forget anything I've said. Forget the lists of features and so on. Watch the movie. It managed to get me incredibly excited, and I'm not an excitable person. It displays some of the incredible graphical upgrades to the game, amazingly, done without increasing minimum system requirements, as well as Dual Handguns. The set goes beyond my wildest expectations! WANT!

Give it a look. It's interesting.
Of all the things I've lost,

Network lag, yes, but no graphics lag that I could see, which is encouraging. The way I heard it, they're really cleaning up the engine.

    Looks much much better.
But its not enough to add sweet looking gfx and a few new zones, they still need to raise level cap or I wont come back.

They won't raise the level cap.

The graphics are impressive and the other stuff is interesting to say the least. Got to watch it again when I have more time.
It´s a little hard for me to understand what they're saying. ;)
What I don' t understand T, is why do you want more levels. I mean - they are just numbers.
Do you want more powers, new powers, new AT's ? That´s what I'd like to see, but it doesn't matter to me
if I use them at level 50 or level 130.

I want a goal, and yes more innovative powers.

    How about a provocating theory?
The goal is to have fun. Having to have levels to gain is addiction. ;)

Hey, City of Heroes is in its own forums again, rather than shunted off as a subforum of "Others." That makes me feel better.

That's pretty much how it goes for me. My "goal," as it were, is to enjoy the game and beat up bad guys. Classical MMO addictions and time sinks are not necessary. In fact, my primary goal is to create and flesh out characters good enough to write stories about and remember for the future. Getting people to read them is problematic, of course, but it is what it is.

Creating fun characters is what makes CoH so great but it would be even better if they gave players something to strive for.
If they don't they will lose a LOT when additional superhero mmos come out.

I wonder if it means that I am depressed or that I am addled when I just don't feel like arguing any more? Suffice it to say a rehash of that is not one of the first things I was looking forward to reading here.

Well it was the natural path for this thread to go.
Sorry I didn't post what you liked.

Isn't that what's always being said with an existing mmo? :)
It will, naturally, lose players with time but I think it's still different enough from others to keep the game running healthy.
It still has a lot to offer that others don´t have and I am personally not that happy with the road Champions took and, most likely, DC will take.
But maybe that's just me. :)
